THE NUCLEAR ACTIVITY AND RESIDUES

There are many ways to produce energy and one of them is nuclear energy.
The process to obtain this energy is very dangerous and requires a lot of care and protection in order to prevent a catastrophe.
This process consists in throwing the nucleus of atoms at a great speed and making them crash into each other. This causes the protons and neutrons of the nucleus to separate, therefore making an explosion that produces a lot of energy. If there weren’t any measurements for protection, there would be a terrible accident.
An example of a nuclear accident is the Chernobyl accident, that occurred close to Ucrania, wich was part of the Sovietic Union. Most of the European countries were affected, this wouldn’t have happened if the workers would have been more careful.
In my opinion, since this activity produces a great amount of energy (approximately 1 million times more per kilogram than petrol), we shouldn’t stop using it.
To prevent an accident, workers should be specialized in this job and be extremely careful.
I also think they should add more protection so if these things happen, they can try to reduce the places it might affect.
To complement all these measurements, we would be safer if the nuclear centers were far away from cities, or if they were in places where no one lived.
If in the future they improve this process, they will have a way to obtain energy in great amounts that won’t contaminate almost anything.

The residues that nuclear power plant leave don’t contaminate, but they are radioactive.
One of the ways to get rid of the radioactivity is summoning the residues in a pool full of water.
Another way is digging and keeping them underground so they don’t affect us.
In conclusion, I think we shouldn’t stop using nuclear energy, but we should take more measurements and more ways to get rid of the radioactive residues.
