Al-Khwarizmi, also known as Al-Jurasimi was a mathematician and astronomer. He was born in current Uzbekistan.
He became famous for helping to create algebra, he also created the numbers we use today, before people wrote roman numbers like IXXI wich made maths much more difficult nowadays life would be complicated, things like programming are much easier, because of this.
He created algorithms as well, algorithms are like guides to solve a problem by steps, it helps us organize ourselves and not complicate things.
Al-Khwarizmi wrote books, in his most famous book he explained how to solve complex equations in real life scenarios like sharing an inheritance or a land; that book was the origin of the word algebra. Also in another book he explained clearly the number 0 and how to use decimal numbers.
He was basically one of the creators of modern mathematics, if you do things like use your phone, computer, playing videogames, etcetera, you’re already using some of his ideas.
I think we should be grateful for people like him who shape the world into what it is today.
