Karate is a martial art created for self defense that originated in Japan.
It is known for its cultural connection, teaching not only martial arts but also Japan’s culture.
Karate helps many people defend themselves and stay in shape; it also helps improve your cardio and your speed. It is a very good martial art for people to learn.
There are many karate competitions so you can participate depending on your level.
Karate is composed of three things:
The first one is Kihon, which are the basics.
Then there is Kata, these are the forms or patterns. Lastly, we have Kumite, which is sparring or fighting.
There are also many styles of Karate including Shitō-ryu, Shotokan, Gojū-ryu, Wado-ryu and Kyokushin, each focusing on different techniques.
Karate doesn’t require speed, muscle or timing to start; you will achieve everything in your way, and even if many people criticize Karate, the art is not what matters, it’s the artist.
